I found someone selling a used Hed3D on eBay and I was wondering if anyone had any experience with one. I’ve heard it’s the fastest wheel, beating out even lenticular discs. If it really is the fastest available, how come they stopped selling it? Also, does anyone know what to expect to pay for a used one? It’s still got a lot of time left, and it’s already going up pretty fast.
They quit making them because they were incredibly difficult to manufacture within the tolerances needed. The one’s that are true are quite desirable, so I would expect this auction to go up a bit more. I hope you are the seller, otherwise I suspect that posting this link here will only draw more eyes and bids to it… ![]()
I bought one in 2004 and have used it exclusively for all my TT races since (except for Kona). I like it.
It’s carried me to some fairly decent times in quite a few halves and two IMs.
What I like about this wheel is it’s bombproof like the Hed3 and what’s better, you don’t need a crackpipe to inflate, and what’s even better is that travelling with it is stress free, since it has a very strong outer shell.
Pick it up if you can.

I just looked at the auction, I didn’t realize this one is a clincher. Mine is a tubular.
I can’t vouch for the clincher.
But I do know mine looks fricken rad with the stickers off !
