HED3 Carbon Clincher?

So I see this post on Ebay:

http://cgi.ebay.com/HED-3-Carbon-Clincher-700c-Wheels_W0QQitemZ7195108642QQcategoryZ58099QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

And think that I have never seen HED3 carbon clinchers. The pics look legit, and I think to myself, “bid, and see what happens.” But then I find this auction:

http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-HED-3-700c-Carbon-Clincher-Wheels_W0QQitemZ7195737956QQcategoryZ36144QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Which has suspiciously the same text about the pretext of the auction, and the same font and formatting. The user names both start with “tri” and one of them has made their feedback private.

My “scam” alarm is ringing. Is there even such thing as HED3C clinchers? And if so, do you think this auction is a scam?

they both seem VERY similar, but on the product description…

they aren’t called H3c clinchers (by either seller) they are H3 carbon clinchers… which is true.

the H3c has a carbon rim (no silver al).

hope that helps…

you decide if it is a scam, but they are not mis-representing the product…

Those auctions are for normal Hed 3 aluminum rim clincher wheels (the aluminum rim is clearly visible in the pictures). They either unintentionally or intentionally confused you by using “carbon” in the title…however since the pictures show the rims I wouldn’t assume nefarious intent just from the title.

Whether they are scams or not I have no idea. With the odd parallels in wording, I wouldn’t bid on either auction, but that is me.
