I’m looking at a dual purpose wheelset for winter training and CX. The 23mm width seem like a good call. Looks like the a23’s are a hair lighter and cheaper, but I don’t have any experience with their rims. Any comments on durability between the two options?
My PT is build on the A23 and seems to be holding up well. Every other Velocity set I’ve had has also been great (like 10+ rims at least)

Claimed weight for the A23 is something like 426, but in actuality, they’re closer to 450. They’re a good rim, though. I built a front using one, plenty of miles and still going strong.
I’ve seen this debate over at weightweenies:

Thanks for the link, plenty of discussion there. Seems like a wash and comes down to where your priorities lie.
My shop built me a set of A23 on Record hubs a year ago and did ghetto tubeless conversion. Great rims, strong - haven’t had to have them trued since getting them. I don’t think you can go wrong if you go with them.
