HED now has colour options

Other than colours, there’s a “Star & Strips” & I’m working on a “Maple Leaf” version.

the maple leaf is one of several reasons I’d like to be Canadian. I grew up playing icehockey, downhill and nordic skiing, snowshoeing, etc in michigan. Seems like a great place!

Do the decals make them faster?

I would guess they would make them slower b/c of added weight and the lip at the edge of the decal providing increased resistance. but, I doubt there is any meter that could measure that precisely.

OTOH, they look faster and that is a large factor of racewheels that should not be overlooked.

Only the yellow ones.

Sweet, i also noticed they are available with the wireless power tap now too…

t~

They have stickers on them anyway so there’s no added weight or drag… You’re just getting more colour options to match/contrast with the rest of your bike…

Everything old is new again? I had a Litespeed Blade with yellow HED wheels about 10 years ago.

I thought Zipp had a patent on decals that made you faster. Are these dimpled???

i was talking about decals as opposed to taking them off altogether. I agree that changing the color of the decals probably doesn’t affect speed drastically ;).

How much weight & lip do you think decals add to the wheel?

The ONLY thing that will make you faster is riding with a rubber chicken strapped to your handle bars. Right, Paul? Although the new colors are pretty sweet! When you get some of those maple leaf ones you let me know!

Do you get $40 off for NO STICKERS, PLEASE!!!

As Speedy found out with the rubber chicken though, it’s important to staple the mouth shut so that it doesn’t act as a parachute, scooping up big quantities of air…

Hey, don’t go messing with me & my rubber chicken.

ZIPP has their dimples (No disrespect intended), my chicken has aero pimples from being plucked.

Q- If I cover the pimples with decals, does that affect the aerodynamic advantage they offer?

No, you have to pay extra to have no stickers, to account for the lost advertising revenue.

i couldn’t even guess. I suppose both could be measured although not with any instruments that I have. Someone just asked if they would be faster with the decals and I think the answer is no. I don’t think this difference would make a one second difference over 40k but I think you’d have to admit a sticker will have an effect. I don’t even have race wheels, so I obviously don’t care too much!

Whats up with the pricing in the online store? Hed Jets going for the same price as Stingers? I thought there was a $100 price difference? The H3 is also marked the Same price as the H3C…

You are now looking at pricing that was announced at Interbike. The Canadian price list also has the JET’s & the Stingers as being the same as well as H3 & H3C.

Speedy - why no special treatment for the Alps? You’ve got colour options for the Jet’s and Stinger’s, but how many people out there have a yellow bike that matches the Alps?

Not that looks are important, but…I would be all over re-stickering my Alps to match my blue frame.
