HED disc wheel question

what is the difference between the 2008 and 2009 clincher disc?

I am looking to buy one, and I found one, I think for a good price, but the owner said it is a 19 mm rim. Does that mean I have to use 19 mm tires on it-or can I use the typical 23mm on it?

Sorry if it is a dumb question.

You can use any width tire you want.

thanks.

Most road rims are about 19mm. HED has started going with a 23mm rim since it changed the tire shape and improved aerodynamics when using a 23mm tire (which most people used). HED has also noticed that this lowered rolling resistance and created better cornering performance.

You can use any tire width your heart desires, as stated earlier, but with the 19mm rim the narrower tire is aerodynamically faster. This is due to the relationship between the 19mm rim and the correct width tire, in this case a 19.
