I’m looking at getting a used CX front (50mm deep). any good for a light rider?
My wife has one on the front of her tri bike with a Hed Deep rear. I also have a set of Hed Jets. Good wheels IMO. The aero data is available on the Hed website. They are just about the only company that publishes aero data. http://www.hedcycling.com/
I have a friend racing on a set that he got used in 97 or 98. No problems with them.
I’ve had two different sets of Hed CX wheels - both bought slightly used and built new around 1997. Originally built by John Cobb. I still have one set that I race - 700c, tubular, SuperSonic hubs, bladed spokes. Might be the best all-around aero race wheel for it’s time and still a very good durable wheel. I think they were around $900 new, in 1997.
Looking for one? I’m in the market to upgrade from CX to HED 3.
My CX has about 1000 miles on it, used only for racing. Complete with Conti Comp 19 for $250 plus S/H. (Tire has 25 miles on it, and retails for $100.)
