For all you Hed C2 riders. Have you been able to dial in your brakes so that you are able to ride both your 19mm wide rims and the wider C2’s by adjusting just the barrel adjusters? Or are you having to partially open the gates to use the C2’s as well? Thanks?
You can do it with barrels only on Dura Ace 7800 brakes- and probably other shimano brakes. you might have to readjust your brakes so that barrel is unscrewed more for the 19s and screwed in for the 23s… Not sure how long the barrel screw is on other popular brakes- campy, sram. You would not be able to do with zero gravity brakes. Anyway- it should only take you 15 seconds to loosen the brake cable- if you need additional brake opening more than the cable. shimano braking can be messed up a little if you try to adjust the width of the brakes by only opening ‘the gate’ as you call it…
I ride C2’s and am thinking about purchasing a new Felt B12 or B2. With the location of the rear brake on the Felt (or the Transition for that matter) am I in for a headache. Anyone know how much of a pain in the ass it is to adjust the rear brake on a Felt?
Since I plan to race every 2 weeks or so, I’d spend a lot of time and $$ at my LBS if I have to take the bike in to get the rear brake adjusted to get my race wheels on every time.
