Hed aerobars: plugging in the extensions

sorry, but i have another q about the 1 piece hed bars (i picked up a used set so don’t have the directions).

is there a spec about how much of the carbon extension needs to be plugged into the extension brackets?

oval has directions for their bars online and it states 50mm, but their brackets mount underneath the basebar, totally different from the hed bars (there isn’t even room to push the extensions in 50mm on the hed version).

on a related note, does anyone have a pdf copy of the directions or would be willing to fax me a copy? i’ve tried hed, but no response (they must be busy with the tour!)

Call Hed and ask them. Better yet, just email them. They are very good at answering email.

FWIW- I put mine in all the way until they bottom out. I assume that is the minimum. New bars are cheap (well, $50.00 or so any ways) and it might not be a bad idea to get a new set just to make sure you have them on correctly.
