I just got my Hed Aerobar and am wondering how to mount the computer on that center section (in front of the stem mounting area) of the aerobar. The center section is smaller in diameter and is not totally round. For those of you who own the Hed Aerobar, how do you mount your computers?
I have thought of using one of those universal computer mounts that would fit onto the extensions but think that its just looks plain stupid. Hed musta put that center section in there for a reason.

wondered about that too. it seems that there is some sort of mount that goes on that flat part. i think it wasn’t just made round to facilitate tightening of the stem face plate. you might be able to get it from HED. but since i got my bars in NY and am now back in the Philippines, i just settled for a profile mount on the extensions.

Try mounting a SIGMA BC1600 computer. Very cheap (but most of the pro’s use it…). You can mount it on the stem. Very easy!
I was using pipe insulation to mount my polar mount on the center section. it slid around a bit and was about to need replacing with another piece of pipe insulation, when I noticed that there is an optional computer mount you can get from hed. I called them, spoke to a nice person (no voice mail prompts, no transfers) who took my credit card number and 3 days later (across the country, boston to seattle) I had an aluminum piece that fits on the center section and gives the right size cross section to hold the mount. It looks nice since it echos the bulge for the stem and holds the polar mount rock steady.
I think it was only $10.
