Hed Aerobar Adjustability Question?

I have a question for those who are familiar with the new Hed aerobars. They claim to have almost infinite adjustability, but I’m having trouble decreasing the angle between the extensions.

Currently, I’ve been fitted with about 13 inches between the outer tips of my old Syntace C2 elbow pads. This requires me to attach the elbow pads on the outermost connection on the hed bars. Problem is I can’t angle the extensions inward enough to get my hands close together. In Dan’s review, he mentions an adjustability feature to angle the extensions inward which I can only do a few degrees. Without twisting the wrist angles inward, I wouldn’t be able to get my hand grips any closer than 7 inches apart. I’d prefer them to be about 2-3 inches apart without compromising my traditional wrist and hand position I’m used to.

Does this make sense to those familiar with the Hed bars? Or are they not suited for larger riders who need the elbow pads and extensions as far apart as I have them?

Any help is appreciated,

Dean

Dean,
I think the key word is almost. If I read your post correctly, you are trying to do ill something with the bars that they won’t do in stock form. We have a couple of solutions which involve custom bars or custom arm pad mounts or both. We should be able to make your bars do what you want them to. Give us a call, 888-246-3639. Andy (at Hed)
