I’m thinking of upgrading my front end from a profile T2 with Easton aluminum extensions to a HED Corsair and was hoping to hear some feedback on the Corsair or on the upgrade in general. I am able to get a pretty good deal on the new Corsair. Thanks in advance.
My favorite bars, especially with the Lazy-S extension. HED products are first rate in my book.
Thanks Mike, even if you’re a little grumpy. Why do you like the lazy S extensions?
I’m also a Corsair + lazy s extension fan. Go ahead and order some ceegees pads. The stock pads compressed fairly quickly. Very comfortable ride.
I have the Hed Corsair with standard S-bend extensions and it is AMAZING. I had tried 3 other tri bars before and I always had small to large amounts of discomfort in my shoulders. These bars have so much adjustability that I was able to really dial in my perfect set up. I like the elbow pads pushed out laterally fairly far, then turn the S-bends inward so my arms are in a net medial direction. Super comfortable for me. I use to spend more time on my bullhorns when going out on random rides now I can ride all day in the aero bars.
Sure, there are a few other bars that can perform the above listed adjustments, but the others I tried were not as successful and not as easy to complete. Plus the corsairs are very light, look great, and have been wind tested the hell out of them.

They offer the best option for doing a Levi/DZ praying mantis position. They are designed so you can tuck your face/head behind your hands. You can kinda do this with ski bends, but the angle of the grip isn’t very comfortable in my opinion. Check out my profile picture for an example
I like the base bar pretty good, the one with integrated brakes is nice, and they have their own return spring built in which can help out with finicky TT brakes sometimes.
Their clip on system I did not like at all, too many bolts and bits and un-aero shapes out in the wind, and it has that flip-up feature which is useless to me and just adds complexity. But you can use other clip ons with their base bar. We used Visions here:
Overall very nice, but at the price, if you didn’t need to be UCI legal, I think the TriRig Alpha might be a better choice. I’m not sure if you can buy the base bar by itself either.
