Just was wondering how you guys warm up for a 40K TT. I did my first (non-Tri) event yesterday and had my highest heart rate 2 miles in to the race at a short steep climb (there was a slightly longer climb at mile 1 prior but not as steep). Throughout the race there were tuffer climbs and, for me it was a big effort throughout the race but I never spiked as high as the early second climb. In fact my heart rate seemed to settle in to a 10 beat range from mile 2-24.
Most of the guys were on spin bikes (some putting in 10 miles on it) I just rode a few miles up and down the road thinking I wanted to save my legs for a big effort. I could use some advise on warm up.
