I´m using the Polar RCX5 during my training and it monitors the heart rate in water too.
The problem I have is that the transmitter is moving during the swim (in pool) and therefore makes it hard use.
During open water when I´m using my wetsuite it is not problem but I don´t want to use the wetsuit in the pool.
Any advices?

Use a one piece tri suit
.
Somehow swimmers have figured out how to train real hard and even set World Records without wearing a heart rate monitor in the pool.
Oh, but I forgot, they’re not doing a triathlon swim and they get to rest during their flip turns in the pool. Please continue.
(Does Speedo make a fuel belt for the pool?)
Any advices?
Use a pace clock and don’t worry about you HR.
Heart rate monitors have no place in the pool… What do you think people did before HR monitors
Take your two fingers, place on neck, count heart beat for 10sec. Multiply by 6. This is easily done in between intervals.
Nothing you can do about that strap. Well, a tri-suit would help, but you don’t want to ruin that by wearing it to the pool all the time. Go by RPE. If you really want HR during the swim, try the Finis Aquapulse. It’s not perfect, but it’s a pretty good toy. I just got one, but mostly because it’s cool and not to train by HR in the pool.

We had these old school ones we used in the 90s that the coach would hold and it had 2 wires, 1 was a ground that went in the water and the other was attached to a sponge probe that you would place on your chest at the end of an interval… they came from Australia.
Count for 6 seconds, add a zero (multiply by 10) - easier! My 6x tables aren’t as good as my 10x table.

I would have to agree. Having this information is not critical. Your best option in the water is the RPE scale. It is accurate enough.
