How did everyone do this week? Wheres Tony been? Anyone know if hes alright?
anyone still out there? Finally broke the 180 barrier. 4lbs to go 3.5 weeks.
Great job!
I’ve been a little scared to jump on the scale since Vegas. The good news is I ran for a 6 minute PR in my half marathon! But I’ve been very swollen and retaining water so I’m going to wait until the week is over for my weigh in. The taper/recovery weeks haven’t helped…
My goal is now 115 by March 31. I’ve giving myself a little time so my goal weight is achieved by race day #1. The holidays will probably not be kind to me, I’m afraid.
Jodi
that is a huge PR! Congrats ![]()
Way to go CQ and Jodi!! Fantastic improvements!! I’m stuck at 159. Still 3 lbs to go with less than 3 weeks left in my first goal. I will reach this goal even if I have to fast on Christmas Day!!!
Awesome I was wondering how that went for you, congrats. IM afraid of the holidays as well, a party every weekend until christmas then of course that feast. Im hoping I can stay on track and drop the last 4. You’ll have no problem dropping weight once you hit full training mode!
Thanks guys!
I have 2 parties this weekend and one for the next 2 weekends with my birthday on the 31st. I’m going to let myself enjoy them, but I shouldn’t blow up too badly because my coach has warned me that I’m heading into some very heavy training loads the next month. Bring it on!
Jodi
Great job CQ, Jodi and Dawn (and everyone else who is still trying but has stopped posting)! Finally got to the halfway point, down 10 and 10 to go. Probably not going to get 20, but should get 15. I’ll have to start another personal challenge on Jan 1 to get another 20 going in 2007.
Congrats on reaching halfway! That’s great!! This “challenge” is definitely going to keep going. My first goal is 12/31, but I have more weight to lose, so I’ll be going on. I’m thinking of setting a new goal every 2 or 3 months. That way, the goal isn’t so far away that I don’t worry about it at the beginning, but it’s still long enough to make some real progress.
Started on Oct. 1 at 224. Want tobe 185 ± by May 1. As of Dec. 10 I am at 206.5. Ahead of schedule and loving it.
Ron
congrats nick!!
how are y’all doing it? i know CQ’s method (i think…:))…but what about the rest of you losers? (get it…weight loss…ahem…is this mic on?)
Yea no wonder you tried to sabotage me this weekend with all that andoulie sausage and whatever other food I was shoving down my throat at your party this weekend!
i didn’t force you to eat! and anyway, you successfully stayed away from the alcohol!
I found a site www.iwant2bike2work.org supported by www.TheBikeBoutique.com where they are trying to promote biking to work in Asia’s city. I believe in their movement and I believe we should support their movement and all movement that is friendly to the environment. Does anyone have a list of movements like theirs?
how are y’all doing it?
For me, it’s simply being very aware of everything I eat. I’m already a pretty healthy eater - not into fast food or junk food - so there were any easy things I could cut out. My only problem is that I have too many calories coming in and not enough going out. Simple as that. In order for me to lose weight, I have to keep track of everything I eat. Not necessarily write it down, but just be aware of it. It’s those days that I zone out on my eating (or the days that I just don’t care) that are problems for me.
I’ve also cut back on meat quite a bit and I’m trying to find alternatives for lean protein. I still love my steak and I won’t be giving that up very soon, but there’s no reason for me to eat meat every day.
You know, I’ve been taking a big step toward vegetarianism, and I swear I am slimming down. I had been hovering around 150 lb in Oct, Nov, and now I’m hovering around 145 lb. I wouldn’t be surprised if I see 140 lb before long.
The exercise doesn’t hurt either.
That’s great BF! I definitely agree that the exercise has to go hand-in-hand with the eating. If I slack off on either one, then I see no weight loss.
You’d better watch out - you’re going to disappear soon!!
Speak for yourself, Dawn! ![]()
Looks like we’re on parallel paths. I think that’s nifty. Best of luck with further experimentation with your health. Hopefully you will look back at this phase as a 50 year old radiant, beautiful (still hot!), fast, healthy, and peaceful woman and congratulate yourself on having established healthy life habits. That’s what this is all about.
