Mrs. J-No and I are heading to Bar Harbor, ME for a conference. Any must-see/do ideas? No real agenda for the week. A few hikes, good food, some relaxation.
Harborside Hotel is a nice place to stay and the lap pool has great views. For a treat be sure to hit the Mount Desert ice cream shop.
Aside from that, there a nice path along the water, good restaurants, and Acadia National Park is stellar.
Acadia National Park is a must. Lots of hiking. Cadillac mountain is a good hike, not all that challenging. Jordon Pond House in the National Park is one restaurant I would recommend.
otter cliffs if you rock climb. otherwise, if you can, bring the bikes. riding around the island then up cadillac mt is a treat. the road is always nicely paved. most of it is oneway traffic too!

Lobster stew with popovers are highly recommended!
The park loop road is a great ride if you will have a bike with you. My in-laws have a house in Southwest Harbor, and I can get in around a 2 1/2 hr ride from their house including the park loop and up/down Mt. Cadillac. It’s nice and hilly too!
For a hike the Precipice Trail is real cool if it’s open (sometimes closed due to falcons that frequent the cliffs). Some of it has iron rungs built into the rock face to climb up.
