I’m headed to Seoul tomorrow, for business. I’ll be there for 5 days. I’m staying at the Courtyard Seoul Namdaemun. It’s about a mile from Namsan Mountain Park—-which looks pretty cool. I’m certainly hoping to get 9-10 miles there Sat and/or Sunday. I won’t likely have time to do anything other than run out the door from the hotel.
I was in Seoul for two weeks this past summer. Was over in Hongdae. I ran almost every day. Out the door and just started weaving. Very wide sidewalks and lots of people run in the am. I loved it. Such a cool way to see the city, down the side streets and through the markets.
I got totally turned around once. The streets don’t always follow a simple grid. Lots of diagonals and numerous streets with same name. Just a different number version of that name.
I am pretty sure Namdeamun is along a river walk, and you can go for a long stretch there.
Its been a long time since I was in Seoul, but the entire Olympic park area is nice for running. I actually got into the stadium and was able to run in an empty stadium on the Olympic track and got to relive the Seoul 88 100m finals. I wrote about it here on ST:
Well… It was an intense business trip, so I didn’t get much chance to run. But, I did make it to namsan mountain park today. 5.75mi / 984 ft elevation.
