I usually dont do a whole lot of posting about TV but I cant think of a show I enjoy more. If you are a guy age 18-45 you could get hooked pretty easy on this series.
My question is if you like this show, what would be two others you would rank up there with it.
My other is Rome (also HBO) and Tapout (probably not many agree here but I like it)
I’ll agree with Entourage but what happened to Rome? Did they just do the one season and that’s it? I cancelled my HBO shortly after Rome ended.
I think you can widen your AG to at least 55 year olds for this one too. I love that show, and others that were great are Deadwood, Rome as mentioned, The Wire, Carnivale, and I did like the one that just got cancelled, John From Cincinnati… Probably I liked it more than the general public because of my surfing background…From Showtime I liked Dexter, Sleeper Cell, and now Weeds, and Californication. Thank goodness for cable, I don’t watch one regular show on commercial tv anymore…
Rome had two seasons. Both are out on DVD. I’ve Netflixed Season 2, which is supposed to be amazing. The series had a huge following but apparently was too expensive to make.
Excellent show.
My two big favorites besides this would be “Sopranos” (side note: just watched Godfather I and II and forgot that Uncle Junior plays a role in “II”) and “Deadwood”. Awaiting that movie that will tie things up for the latter series.
Thats two for Deadwood…never tried it, maybe I will now. Concerning Rome $…it must have cost huge bucks as the sets were massive.
Ari Gold has to be one of my all-time favourite TV characters. Do a google search for some of his classic lines…

The Ari Gold character is the reason why I am hooked on this show.
I’ve never gotten too into The Wire; if I did, my wife would probaly kill me. Kudos to HBO and Showtime for really stepping up the level of a TV series…I was really concerned for my television soul after the loss of Six Feet Under a few years back; however, I’m quite pleased with most of the shows on cable (and some even on network channels-SOME). The FX network also has to be included in this group, as well.
I’m probably going to DVR the NBC upcoming series Journeyman, simply because it features the Lucious Verenus dude from Rome…
