Have you seen the new Steelhead run course? AWESOME!

I’m excited about this. Basically we leave transition and run out to the loop, not unlike the format of the bike course in Wisconsin (but we’re talking run course here at Steelhead right now). We do two loops inside the Whirlpool Corporate Campus- which is very nice with more shade than the previous course, then back to the area where the transition is. Also looks a new finish line area.

Rumor on the street is there are going to be some late appearances by some top pros too…

I’m too excited.

Especially after today; having just endured some comments from others trying to watch the the Great Lakes Tri - where 1,000 cars try to fit into a a few small areas (RD did the best they could)… I’m very excited for the Steelhead venue which caters to racers AND spectators. Especially for those driving in from the north: they can just camp-out / tailgate at the Whirlpool campus.

I recently rode the Steelhead bike course as well, and it is amazing.

Those are excellent photos and capture the course faithfully. I may not be in great shape, but I am looking forward to race day!

Tom - I am not sure why we did not think of going out to Whirlpool with the race course in our first four years of the race. They have been our title sponsor for the past four years and the person that designed the run course is a retired employee of Whirlpool!

The course does have some areas of shade, but the best part is that we do not have to run over any grated bridges!

See you in a few weeks. Z
