Has anyone tried PC's with a fixed gear?

Well, has anyone? I am curious because I have always ridden the fixed gear to help with my efficiency, and when I tried the PC’s on my road bike I found that I did very well…for a while at least. My neuromuscular function seemed pretty well trained for constant power output, but my endurance was poor for periods longer than 20-30 minutes. I was actually worse off at that point than my “square pedalling” friends (I think they aren’t so square anymore). I was wondering if using the fixed gear would take the coordination issue to a new level? The drive train constantly moves, and with the PC’s, instead of carrying you through a dead spot in your pedal stroke, would it make it that much more obvious? Is this a stupid idea?

I don’t think you would notice any difference, since the chainwheel will still rotate through whether or not the gear is fixed in the back. The only difference would be that you would alway be in the same gear.

yeah that wouldnt really do anything. It would just be like riding PC’s and only have one gear in the back. Fixed gear works because of forced pedaling. It would add a new level to PC’s in the sense that you’d have no gears to switch to and so therefore if the road turned up, you’d be forced to PC it in the one gear you got, which would would require a lot of strength.
