I have a Ventus and a 2011 P4 frame. The entry for cables on the 2011 was moved such that the Ventus is no long compatible. On the forum there has been posts to cut or grind down the bar such that the Ventus will work with a 2011 P4. I believe this in also an issue with other frames and the Ventus.
I have been reluctant to actually do the modification. The Ventus is a beautiful bar and taking a hack saw to it just does not seem right. Like to hear:
How did you cut it. hack saw? Grind? TNT?
Would you do it again?
Also if anyone has any pictures after the cut I would really appreciate it.
Take it to a machine shop and have them use an end mill to trim the tail off. You’ll also want to use a dremel tool to grind the sharp edges down a touch after (or ask them to “break” the edges).
I cut one for my sc 7.0. And I know at least one other forum guy has done the same. I think he and I are in the running for the most aero apex equipped bike ever created.
Just use a hacksaw, then grind down the cut to make it smooth. The bar just looks rockin’ I would do it again in a heartbeat, of course I bought the bars used. I don’t think I could cut it if I paid retail.

I have a 2011 P4 and just had my bike shop cut it down when they moved the front end over. Clean, easy…didn’t think twice about having it done and haven’t thought about it since. Really no biggie.
Pic? Getting a picture to show up on a post would represent a massive leap in my technological acumen but I’ll see if I can figure it out this afternoon.
