Has anybody used H3 front at IMC?

I have both a HED 3 front wheel and a Zipp 404 front wheel. I am trying to decide if it is safe/wise to use the HED 3 in the front considering the fast descents and crosswinds at IMC. I am 158lbs, bike handling abilities are good.

Anybody used it before that can let me know how it went?

Thanks.

I used a 650c Nimble Crosswind (front and rear) and had no issues at all.

Last year I rode a H3 on the front with a Renn disk on the rear and had no problems in the race. While there was some wind on the back side of the course it wasn’t bad.

Two days prior the wind was screaming while I was practicing descending from Twin Lakes and I was getting pushed around considerably. I’m 185 lbs and it was probably the most uncomfortable I’ve ever been on a bike.

While I had checked the bike in with the H3, I was prepared to take a different wheel race morning if forecasts had called for high winds again. I’ll have an Alps along this year, just in case.

I haven;t used a HED 3 there but I have done the race twice (both times with 404’s I believe) and I would not hesitate to use a HED 3.

Man…I am so far behind 'da times. I still use a HED deep in 'da back and a HED 2 (I guess tha’s what id is) on ‘da front. Tubulars, wit’ 'da aluminum rims. I’m too much of a chicken boy to use 'da cahbahn fibah rims and pancake meeself when 'da tires roll off from 'da heat.
