Harriman state park road conditions? (NY)

anyone been up to harriman and know if all the roads are open?

Did four (windy) loops today. All roads are open. A good portion of 7 lakes has been repaved. Unfortunately, from LWD to Kinawauke cirle it’s still as bad (bumpy) as ever.

Be careful at the stop sign at the bottom of LWD as you approach 7 lakes there is a shitload of sand. Otherwise the course is in good shape.

Lots of riders out there today.

Yes, and yes. I was there today.

About half of the normal bike course section of Seven Lakes Drive has been FRESHLY PAVED.
(God only knows why they didn’t do the whole damn thing - the part from Sebago Circle to where it’s paved is the same old minefield as ever)
From Sebago Circle until the parking entrance at Lake Skanatati/Lake Askoti is the same old, same old.
(I had to cheat and look at the names for those 2 lakes - no way I’d know them from memory)

In fact, Seven Lakes Drive from its terminus at the Bear Mtn Park traffic light at 9W has all been freshly paved. It was quite lovely.

I dunno if the part of 106 that was closed last year is open or not. I hike-a-biked that short section where the bridge is “out” last summer when I came across it, so it would not be impassable for a cyclist, if it is even still closed now.

Heh - that’s funny we had two people ask us for directions to Skanatati today and I said I’d never heard of it. Been ridng there for years.

Yeah, clarification, I meant all roads of the course are open e.g. the movable barriers are down. The bridge on rte 106 is still out but as Murph point out one get walk around it.

They seem to have just taken down the barriers…website says its open all year round so sometimes I just kind of slip around the barriers
.

Along a similar vein, when the gate to the top half of Perkins Memorial Drive up to the top of Bear Mtn is closed, I take it as them saying it is closed to CARS.
Very easy to hop off, walk around, and keep riding. Nice to have it all to oneself that way too.
