Happy Pi Approximation Day!

… to my fellow math geeks

What’s your workout, in terms of pi? I’ve run 2 pi miles so far.

I have a Computertrainer ride of 19.09859319 pi minutes planned for tonight, including 2 x 6.366197731 pi minutes at estimated FTP.

EDIT TO ADD: Since pi is involved, this will give me a great opportunity to practice pedaling in circles.

I didn’t think that 0.318 was an approximation of pi. ; ^ )

Yesterday I sadly only ran 17/7.

20pi minutes cycling and 5pi/6 km swim
.

flip the fraction, smart alek, 22/7/09 and it works

22/7/9=0.3492

I know, I know. Just couldn’t help myself. 40 pi minutes on the bike for me today.

Archimedes says it is pi day.

Things seem so much smaller in terms of pi, unfortunately. Nice ride.

Well, who am I to argure with Archimedes? He wins on principle alone.

Very cool! Thanks for sharing

Sadly Google missed this one.
When I saw the post I raced to my computer to see what clever little theme they had of the logo for Pi. Alas I was dissapointed to the pi-th degree.

Shame on them. They’re geeks too, you’d think they’d celebrate it. I am trying to recall if they remembered the March 14 Pi Day.

I am going to celebrate with nice round Cherry Pi for dinner tonight.

So google does batman but not Pi? I guess they are comic book geeks. Not that there is anything wrong with that.

A few years ago at our local track series, we were allowed to buy and own our own preferred number.

Mine was
Pi
of course!

Nerdy and somewhat irrational was my excuse.

The symbol? Or a 3 digit approximation.

Thanks for sharing. As a former Math/Physics geek, I’m ashamed to admit that I missed this. In March, would that have been just before 4 pm?

You’re a couple days late.

I always celebrate the first Friday after Pi Approximation Day.

I ate something at the hospital cafeteria that was a rather poor approximation of pie. It went along with 144(lasagna). (i.e. one gross.)
