To my fellow Americans, Happy Labor Day. What are you doing on this fine holiday, or what did you do all weekend?
To our non-American counterparts, what is your equivilent holiday honoring the working class, or day that marks the end of summer?
Me? Normal day. Going to work and coming home to make dinner for the family. Oh, and I’m donating blood this afternoon.
I’m trying to get my 11 year old to get in the kayak with me. We just got in from taking the dogs for a walk and she is moaning about the heat and her knee hurting. I bet she would feel fine to go shopping however :).
Happy labor day to you too:-) I ran 21 miles, eating chipotle, napping, then swimming! Fun, fun
Worked 12 hour shifts at night in the Air Operations Center at Tyndall AFB all weekend trying to organize and get a handle on all of the air assets flying into the Hurricane Katrina area.
Went for a 4 mile run this a.m. and now i’m heading out for a very warm and windy 100km ride…yayyyyyyyy
Laid around watching the mess in the South. I have had two surgeries in the past month and would be down there with the fire dept. if it wasn’t for not being able to walk.
My little problems don’t compare to having every thing taken from you.

Just finished a road ride with a friend/customer of mine. First time since I bought my store I’ve been on my bike 3 days in a row! Yee ha.
I’m going mountain biking! probably not the best last minute IMoo preparation - but what the hell - we don’t have a lot of nice days left in Wisco this year!

Studying all morning, then cycling to campus this afternoon to do some work in the lab before studying more and writing a brief paper tonight…
boring stuff.
Tapering and bored out of my head. I’m taking the family to the movies later today.

Lets see… 100 mile ride to train for IM Florida, followed up with a long nap then all my freinds are comming over for a barbque and lots of beer drinking!
Oh wait, no I am sorry that is what i am SUPPOSED to be doing. Instead I am in Houston where I had to evacuate, sit around and watch on tv what is left of my city and my home, wait for sporadic phone calls from my freinds who made it out, try to figure out what the hell to do for a job and a future.
1500 meter swim in the morning and will do a 20 mile bike ride in the afternoon.

Birthday today. Got up at 5:45
Hit Starbucks drink and breakfast.
Head downtown Vancouver to watch triathlon.
Swear I saw a guy that looked like Julian from the UK but I have only seen one picture of the guy.
Get home to open presents from girlfriend. She borrowed some pictures from France of bikes and had them framed for my birthday and a couple of other small gifts.
Head out for another Starbuck and a walk along the water in Crescent Beach.
Going for a great Dinner in White Rock tonight. Pearl is the best restaurant on the water. Just amazing.
Could not be a better day.
Went for a 90-minute surf at dawn, then put the bike clothes on and did a 30-miler on the bike. Now, chores around the house and maybe a jaunt to the beach with wife/daughter later today.
Just going to tell you guys that Labor Day will be uneventful as I had mine yesterday (I am a day ahead of you guys on the mainland) and it completely sucked! Rained all damn day and was only able to get a 4 mile run in over the entire weekend as it rained the whole time as well and the only dry area I could find was a treadmill at my gym! Couple that with an island wide power outtage all night sunday and my entire weekend was pretty much crap! Oh well, at least I did not have to work:) Happy Labor Day!
