The IM qualifying time for the 3rd place 40-44 male age group and Half Vineman?
Even I could beat this time! This makes you wonder why a race with a weak field gets so many slots.
I wonder if that got rolled up to him.

That just shows~At qualifying races, it pays to stick around with cash-in-hand… I’ll bet that he was one suprised (and happy) man!!

Most likely, since he was 133rd in his Age Group, the slot rolled down to him. My guess is that the top several guys already had or didn’t want the slot, a whole bunch of people didn’t go to roll down, and he showed up to collect. He got very lucky.
I could be wrong, but that’s what it looks like. A look at the results shows some pretty respectable times.
Oh…I’m sure it rolled down.
