OK- I know this impossible to predict, but, online reg starts Sept 19th at noon…and I will absolutely not have access to a computer til 2pm that day
any predictions how fast this may sell out? should I give cc to a friend to sign me up? this is the only race that I really want to get into next year and don’t want to miss out
I would not worry. Seriously, they have capacity for 2500 people. They are expecting in the range of 1300…plenty of other half Ironmans to pick from and (in general), you don’t get the same volume of people making half IM a destination event like IM. We won’t get 1200-1400 international athletes like in the full IM.
next I am going to bother you about places stay—looking for a place for about 6 people-any recommendations? where to look? we want to keep costs down if possible
There are hundreds (if not thousands) of condo units within walking distance of the t-zone at the Tremblant resort, in addition to all the hotel rooms in the pedestrian village. Many condo owners rent them out through agencies, of which there are several. Just Google Tremblant condo and you should be able to find some good options. Just be careful that you confirm where in the area the unit is (e.g., is it way up a mountain road), and be aware that the Village of Mont-Tremblant is about 4k west of the Tremblant resort, where the race is. Staying in the Village would probably be cheaper, but then you’d have to drive in and park (at least if you have kids with you).
Anything in Red is right on site, furthest away is about 400yards from Transition. Since you are only 2 I would recommend a 1 bedroom suite or a
studio.
You can get a studio for example at Place St.Bernard for $192CND per night.
Description
Bedding in the unit consists of 1 double murphy bed and a sofa bed. Approx. 450 sq.ft. Maximum occupancy is 4.
Room Amenities
Air-conditioning, Balcony/patio/terrace on request, Bathtub/Shower Combination, Cable TV, Coffee maker, Data port, Direct dial phones, Dishwasher, Fireplace (Ecological Wood Logs), Fridge, Full kitchen, Hairdryer, Heating, Microwave, Pay movies, Radio, Razor outlet, Toaster, Video games, Voicemail, Windows that open
Or upgrade to 1 bedroom suite for $234.00 per night.
Again any of the location in Red will work fine, the Tour des Voyageurs is right on the finish line but will be very loud on race day, I would recommend something further up.
