I built up the Crono 2.0 which is now called the CR901 and got to ride it for the first time yesterday. 4 hours on a TT bike for the first time in 8 months since getting a plate in my neck from a wreck in a crit race. The only thing sore are my legs from drilling it every chance I could get. Smooth…power transfer for days…and wow is it fast. Cuts the wind like a hot knife through butter. Still dialing in the position a bit but wow is this a fine ride. Whats better is the practicality of the frame. As in I love that there are not brakes hidden in some where where you can’t adjust them or forced to use a rear brake that seems more for show than actually being able to stop you. Especially when you are swapping race to training wheels. Also, the way the cables run through the frame. Cable stops at the neck of the toptube and the cables slipped right through to where they should drop out. EASY! The BB30 press fit is awesome! I used an Enduro Zero bearing set up and my crank spins like my front wheel. Very nice seat mast and seat mast clamp as well as the one bolt clamp for saddle rails. I am 200lbs and on for the first ride I was surprised that nothing slipped on the first 4 hours. Its nice that some one built a frame that you don’t have to weigh like a pro to ride.
Also I used the PRO Missile aerobar set up. WOW…um they are LOW! But I like it and the small pads are actually comfortable. I am a huge HED Corsair fan but if you need lower stack on the pads then then the PRO is as low as you can go. The Zipp Return To Center shifters are a great improvement to the std Sram R2Cs.
Yes, I am a shop owner, yes I sell Gurus, yes its self serving to give a good review. My own reputation hangs on each sale and I can’t afford to sell junk. This frame…is going to be an amazing frame for those lucky enough to get one. Guru did an outstanding job taking their TT frame to the next level that can compete with any other frame out there on the tech side while still being able to make it custom for each athlete…which is the ultimate!
Holy crap is that a good looking bike! Damn! Very nice!
Question regarding the Zipp R2C. You said they are a big improvement over the SRAM R2C. Why do you say that? Just curious. I just installed some SRAM R2C lever I picked up on ST. Only 4 rides on them, but, I really like them. The left shifter (front) is kinda a pain in the ass. The right shifter (rear) is like butter.
Besides the bigger paddles (which I think I would prefer), what do you like better than the SRAM?
Like a hot knife through butter. Unless Guru is on to something big with some sort of butter-based coating. Which would produce all manner of interesting bike pr0n on ST.
been riding the bike for 2 weeks now. The bike is amazing. I do a lot of group rides and find myself on the front of the group driving the pace…I have never spent so much time actually spinning in my 12t-14t cogs and spinning. Very fast. They did good on this one. First race is this weekend…a duathlon with a 30K TT in it. Too bad I have not been running that much. Never the fastest bike split at a race but usually top ten…lets see how she does this weekend.

I think you’re just more confident on your new bike. Give your engine some credit.
Hey Phil! Nice to see you here, I suspect you’ve been here for a while, but I just noticed.
I was in Phil’s shop re-doing a fit and can tell you how nice looking this bike is. I had seen the Pro Missle bars here on ST and liked them. Then I saw them in person- they are REALLY nice.
Last year I was 15lbs lighter (I am 5’9 and 200lbs) and was riding way stronger in road races. Last August I cracked my neck in a crit and now have a plate in it. I was off the bike completely for 3 months. This season with business growing and getting married…my riding has taken a backseat. Which is why I am so surprised by how I am doing on this rig…not to mention the guys I ride with being surprised. Sunday I hope to have a good day and see what I can really do on the bike…
Very nice - I think I now konw what bike to put at the top of my ‘wish list’ for next season. What is the price point for the frameset? Will it be sold as a complete package (what price point?)
I’m very jealous. I own two Guru’s currently and I’ve had a Crono 2.0 or CR.901 on order since November. Last update I had as of a few weeks ago is an end of June delivery. I really can’t wait to get it. Thanks for sharing the pictures and your impressions.
To the one above this reply, they start at $4500 for frame, fork and seatpost. Some color options drives the $$$ up some too.
Yeah, I have had guys on order for these since last October. I have delivered two and another hitting me next week. I know its a long wait…but this rig is worth the wait!
