so much for the 100% shimano parts spec. anyone know what the brake calipers are for 105 and Ultegra2 spec tri spec? Shimano or substitues?
Wow, very impressive catalog.
For the most part OEM manufacturers, and I am guessing in this case, are using brakes made by a number of vendors. One of them is Tektro.
If you remove a Shimano Ultegra, Shimano 105 and Tektro OEM style brake (often time labelled “Cannondale” or “Brand A” or “Omega” or whatever) and tehn carefully examine them you will see the Tektro OEM brake is excellent: Metal (alloy) quick release lever, excellent spring tension, easy to center, etc., etc.
I wouldn’t give these short shift to Shimano. They are as nice in most cases, better in some.

The new Crono sure does some funny stuff near the BB. Looks like last years Crono became this years Trilite, except kept the carbon rear end. Cool. I sure am enjoying my 2004 Crono, I bet the new Trilite is amazingly comfortable for a lot of people.

Just got back from a little vacation in Montreal. Took a little side trip to Guru’s facility in the east end. Quite the eye opener, even for me a diehard fan. They really have it goin on over there. There are alot of rumours flying around about who makes what for whom, but I’ll tell ya, they are doing it all themselves. Awesome paint room, Ti, aluminum and steel welding facilities and a very cool carbon layup room. I got to hold the bladders and molds for the new Crono in my very own hands. Tried to sneak out with one but they caught me with it down my pants!
Too much cool stuff to right about, besides I just got back from vacation. Any questions, comments, reply here or message me and I’ll fill you in on what I saw. I’ll tell you one thing though, I saw the Crono up close and personal…wet dream all the way. the pic doesn’t even do it justice, same for the new racelite…
Just to be a little different I’m not 100% sure I like the Crono.
