Awesome video…
I love You Tube!
You can buy it off google for $4bn or so.
That’s great, I always liked Jimi.
Side note: several great people in that short clip are gone.
Brian Jones
Mama Cass Elliott
Keith Moon
John Entwistle
Janus Joplin
Jimi Hendrix
Noel Redding
Mitch Mitchell
Jimi was unreal!
I just bought a remastered new version of Are You Experienced on vinyl ![]()
I didn’t realize that Mitch Mitchell died recently, about three months ago! I had read a review recently of the Hendrix Experience tour he was doing with a group of music notables. Sad…
Wow!
Vintage Hendrix at his best.
“I think” that clip is from a concert that had the R&R elite in England at that time.
In attendence, if I remember correctly:
The Who
Stones
Cream
Beatles
Hendrix
The Mamas & Papas
The Animals
John Mayall
Yardbirds
And more I can’t remember off the top of my head.
We know the Who & Hendrix played. I think Cream followed Jimi…tough act to follow.
Cool video. One of my friends actually got to see him right before woodstock for $3!!
Arrgh…the video was deleted.
Can someone check to see if it’s posted somewhere else or give me a lil background? I only got through a few seconds when it was posted and then remembered about it today (and it’s gone).
Arrrghh…

This seem to happen regularly on YouTube. You see a cool video, then when you go back a few weeks/months later to check it out again - it’s gone. Why?
Copyright.
I posted a nifty lil video of my Ironman 2007 season and it was yanked due to my intro song. Of course, there are 14,546 other videos which start with that song…but mine was pulled.
On a funny note, I have a friend who is the drummer for a fairly well known band who is currently touring. They asked him to blog and the do all the “web 2.0” stuff. He posted several video on YouTube and they were pulled. Of course, he then blogged about his own songs being deleted (and the record company didn’t back down “we own them, not you”.)
Copyright.

That’s what I figured, but clearly there is some discretion that goes into it, cause some stuff that is obviously in violation of copyright, stays up, while other stuff get’s taken down. Where do they draw the line? And who on earth monitors this - does Google employ people to surf YouTube all day to root this stuff out? Seems laborious.
When my video was pulled, I was sent an email notification. I challenged it and the video was up and running for another month…when it was pulled again (I believe after the challenge was denied).
I can certainly understand Copyright laws, but my opinion (incorrect) was that, I bought the CD/song and had rights to use it in my personal photo montage. It was actually a melody of several songs. If nothing else, the record companies should be flattered that I was promoting their product.
Heck…they are now “selling” other people’s content for download, so I guess I’ll have to copyright all my content and sue YouTube once it’s placed on the site.
Weird. Whoever has the most attorneys usually wins.
