I used to be able to find 5.5oz “flask filler” packets of Gu (5 servings in one pack). Anybody know where you can buy these? Are they discontinued?
I think they are discontinued. I searched in vain last summer both locally and on line and concluded that they are no longer sold.

I went through the same thing last year and the folks at Tri-zone told me they were discontinued and to try Carb-boom. They have a 12 serving bottle for just over $7 after USAT discount. To me, it was a great switch. The bottle is better to use/store vs the large gel packs that were a mess and each serving has 10 more cal than GU. I had no stomach issues switching over. I was looking at that as an option as well as Hammer Gel - which is available in a bottle. Anyone have any experience with Hammer? My only concern is that the sodium content seems to be pretty low.
IF you need sodium, then yes, you’ll have to supplement if you use either carb-boom or hammer gel (they’re both maltodextrin, so essentially the same).
I’ve had very good experience with the Hammer bottles. There is always one in my fridge for early morning workouts. Personally, the lower sodium content has never been an issue for me, but each person is different.
Carbboom is tasty. I don’t think they have a full range of flavors in the bottles however. I like that the bottles are smaller than Hammer and a bit less expensive per oz.
I might have to try that. I used a bottle of Hammer yesterday (vanilla) and I was great at first, but got to me after awhile.
