The previous closing date of the pay bridge to Grosse Isle Island here in Michigan has been changed to April 4 due to ice flows in the Detroit River. Very large ice chunks, many the size of houses, were seen moving south in the river on the ride this morning. The work crews cannot position the maintenance barges with the ice flows coming through.
We did that ride this morning knowing it would be the last time in three weeks we could cross the pay bridge to the island. As it turns out, the ice flows delayed the bridge closure for re-decking until April 4 with a tentative re-opening of the bridge sometime around May 1.
We rode over to the house Kid Rock is supposed to be buying. It has a new tennis court.
