Wow, just wow! Never mind a one handed catch, this is a three finger catch ![]()
Not sure this can be topped.
Maybe the best I’ve seen. He had to reach over and behind his head after being knocked off balance by the PI call. It wasn’t soft toss fade either, it was launched from well up field. Impressive.
Not sure this can be topped.
Hey were you at tcf stadium today? I wondered if anyone around a camera was you.
I was hoping someone would post this. In fact, that is why I logged in.
It is the best catch I remember seeing.

It’s pretty fancy.
Ah, football. I thought this thread was going to be about fishing stories (with all the embellishment that goes along with them). For example, there was this time when the neighbor kid that caught a mermaid with some doritos.

Different sport, but just as spectacular. Watch it from all angles to get a feel for what he did. Also, in a huge pressure situation (late in game 7 of NLCS):
Not sure this can be topped.

Well, if any of them were white, they weren’t him.
Certainly a great catch but for me the Jim Edmonds catch has never been topped.
Huge situational play, but there were probably a dozen or so outfielders in the league who could’ve made that catch.
I don’t think there’s more than one or two, including Beckham, who could’ve pulled that ball in the way he did.
One of my favorites here. Final pitch of the final game of the season, to secure the first no hitter in Nationals history. Situationally and athletically epic.
Wow indeed! I can not remember a better catch.
Did this catch win an NFC Championship? No?
Certainly a great catch but for me the Jim Edmonds catch has never been topped.
I was a hugh fan of Edmonds. Lots of great catches. But the best centefielder of that time was Andruw Jones. He never had to make a great catch because he was always under the ball with his amazing instincts, quickness, and speed. Everything hit to the outfield was a can of corn for Jones.
Otis Nixon catch is pretty amazing too. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WSHzGtPx8zo (this is for all the Pirate fans)

Yeah those guys fly under the radar. I got to watch Devon White in his prime. He was something else. Always had a beat on everything, you rarely saw him dive.
Here’s the Devon White/Kelly Gruber World series triple play that the umps boned.

I’ve tried to forget that whole series.
That and '93 are the only sports Championships I have ever had the chance to enjoy.
I have to relive them over and over again.
honorable mention
Deadspin showed a few stills of the catch, not only was it one-handed but he only had three fingers (well, two and the thumb) on the ball when he pulled it in. Incredible, incredible catch.
Across all ‘sports’, this is still the one that drops my jaw every single time:

Not as crazy-athletic as many other football/baseball catches, but my god is it unbelievable when you see that slow-mo.
Does he make the catch without the glove? There I said it.
