Have to second that. Of Warren and Hubie, who has the curlie hair? He’s the only one I ran into. Super kids race on Saturday too, 140 in 4 waves!!! The youth race was the highlight of my weekend.
Was the water tested? There were water warnings posted in the area. I got the scoots and my buddy got a intestinal bug. He went to the DR and was prescribed antibiotic.

Considering just the cast mentioned above, I hope they had some serious flowin’ keggage.
Yes, I believe it was and I was told the area we swam in was fine. My kids did the youth tri Saturday, and I did the Half Sunday, no issues here.
Congrats on a great race and great win Kevin! It must have been a cool race to watch between you and Todd. Nice job!

Dan,
Thanks. Todd is a fantastic athlete, great at all distances. To be able to compete on a level with him was a thrill. It took everything I had to be on par with him Sunday. I’m confident that by next year, there will be an Open category, and we can race together out of the same wave.

Yes it was an all star cast, and I’m happy I’ve become part of that! Mickey truly has the athlete’s best interests at heart and with the support he has for this event it will continue to grow.
Pam Kent and Mickey did all the work on the new bike course and I just came in and gave it the loving it deserved, as a course guy we don’t always see the race but I did see the two leaders going at it on the second loop and that was cool.
Thanks to the crew and athletes for a good weekend at the races.

My wife and I came from New Jersey for the race (as we did last year) and I thought it was really fantastic. Great scenery on the bike. The swim felt like an ocean swim sans salt water and though the run was tough it was a nice mix of beach-side running and small hills away from the shore.
It was my first half and I enjoyed the race despite being really dehydrated. I missed the handoff at the first bike aid station and that killed me. Going from mile 10 to mile 20-something without fluids left me way behind despite my best efforts to make it up. My run and bike suffered big time because of it. That said, I learned a lot about how much I need to drink both before and during a longer race. It was the first time I can remember trying to survive a run, rather than having my legs under me. Live and learn. Great local event and I probably will do it again next year to try and get it right.
I got dehydrated and blew up badly in my first half in St. Croix a few years ago and I count that as the best learning experience I ever had in a triathlon. I did the international and thought the run was hot, so by the time you started the half run, it was even hotter, so good job sticking it out. And next half - if its a hot day, drink a lot.
