Great spring training weather... not

Rant on… So I’m sitting here about to watch the Lance thing on OLN and I hear the tornado warning thing for the 4TH time this week, it’s only Thursday. Now I’m waiting for the Dish to quit working, which should happen right around 7:30pm when the Chronicles come on.

If it’s not raining, hailing (I got hailed on running Sunday), it’s 40-50mph winds, or all the roads are flooded. I’ve logged more trainer/coutch time this week since it snowed. Right now I’m wishing for a calm 30 degree December afternoon so I can ride. And I ride in the rain too, just not if I’m going to get hit by a tornado.

The best part is I can’t get a chance to clean my gutters since it only rains when I’m not busy. Plus now the basement sliding glass door is leaking since we apparently have a erosion issue back there. We caulked the door, how ghetto is that? I think I might buy some sandbags is this keeps up.

The second best part is when the highways flood in the median since they don’t drain real well. You could have swam in some of them during rush hour a couple of days ago. Woo Hoo, it must be spring!!!

There must only be 5 good training weeks a year in St.Louis… rant off

dammit, I see Lance on the bike in the intro and blam, damn dish quit working… AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

If I didn’t have to get on the roof to break it I’d do it… but then I’d get struck by lightning or a tornado or some blinded birds… CRAP!!!

I can hear the gutters pouring onto my deck, FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF

I think something just flew off my house… I’m not kidding, this storm is a mutha… I feel like Marky Mark in the Perfect Storm… except I’m in my house

I feel your pain. Hopefully it clears for the weekend. Some great rides going on around town this weekend and next.

I’m kinda sick right now. One more day of antibiotics and then I’m back on the horse… Well this was a good week to be sick, since I probably wouldn’t have gotten too much riding in anyways.

Ooooh, the dish is back on… off… on… off… I hate the dish!!! Now it’s on, but it’s a WWF promo, back off. Well at leas the dish didn’t fly off the house. But that means it might have been something important.

I might do the Du on Monday, but will take it easy the rest of this weekend for sure so I don’t get sick right away again.

Damn dude that sucks! You need to move…

Yeah, I would but I have a 2.25 year old little one who cannot move with me… I’ve thought about doing training camps in the winter, but can’t move for good… well I shouldn’t say I can’t, I won’t move until she’s grown up or can move with me…

Dish works now… I guess I missed the repeat… good thing I didn’t break my TV

You were right, Nike commercial kicks ass… still want to see the Bell one again

At least you have your priorities straight. Nothing is more important than the little one.

I’ve got that one down… it’s all the other “priorities” which I can easily ignore for this triathlon thing

Did our first group ride with the roadies in almost two weeks. We’ve been rained out. Tonight was the hill ride. Man, was I hurting after missing all those rides due to the weather.

At this point I would take being able to ride my trainer. Stupid cars…

How bad? I got it on March 25th, but was only out for about a week. Bike was DOA though.

Sprained back and right hip. Bike is probably worse. Luckily I have other bikes to ride once I heal. Man…long weekend…I’m going to go nuts not being able to ride :frowning:

No way… it was the bottle cage

btw - damn… march 25th is my b-day. Sorry it was a bad day for ya

"No way… it was the bottle cage  "

hehehehhe. News sure travels fast around here!

Well, it is memorial day weekend, so you could always be social and bbq and drink beer, there will be plenty of that going on. If I wasn’t training this weekend I’d be at the Lake of the Ozarks for the always fun “Party Cove” where all the young women are fully dressed

Alas, three days of drunken debauchery may thrown a wrench in the training plan. Or more like a hand grenade in the training plan.

You could overhaul a bike or something useful. I usually just go work on my bikes at the shop I used to work at. Good talk, good times, help some customers for old times sake, and overhaul my bike without destroying my house.

I think I will side with the drunken women and call it a recovery weekend
.

It’s hurricane-ing here in Missouri, so I don’t have anything to do except read the slowtwitch forum… over, and over, and over again…

I’ve already read every triathlon article ever written from when I had a corporate job, so this is the newest stuff… kinda sad.

Did bob roll just say the turns up to alpdhuez is going to be a TT?

Party Cove is better than Mardi Grad… only top cuts make it onto the boats, so there is no need to filter which naked women you see, they’re all quality  Plus there are no cops, it’s hot, and it’s a lake, so everyone is almost naked anyways… But I’d rather not get my ass handed to me in Europe, so I’ll stay away this weekend… I’ve got the rest of my life to look at naked women and drink beer… well that and the same thing happens on Labor Day when my season might as well be over!!!
