I just wanted to give some kudos to a new internet store that I had a great experience with. And before I go any further I have to tell you that I have zero affiliation with this store.

by a friend the other week and I must say I was at first a little skeptical do to the lack of product selection but gave it a try anyway; (they are in Albany, NY and I like to try and support the “little guy” in my state).
I was looking to get into a new wetsuit but was undecided on which one to go with; I knew I was going with 2xu but unsure if I should go with the Velocity, Elite or Comp. My first initial response was to buy the more expensive. As I am speaking with them I can see that they are really pushing me (average swimmer) toward the Comp which is $200 less then I was ready to spend. I agreed and spent less money and actual truly feel they put me in the right suit.
This is a “mom & pop” store that wants to make sure every customer is happy. As I said above they don’t have a huge selection but if they do have what you are looking for I HIGHLY recommend you get it from them. A lot of these types of stores come and go I would like to see this one stick around.
As a side note the person on the phone also told me that if they don’t have what you want they will try and get it for you. You have to love that neighborhood feel.
I’m a complete newbie so normally I just lurk and keep my mouth shut but I feel compelled to post something about Steady State Sports.
They are a new sponsor of a club I belong to so yesterday I sent them an email to see if they could obtain a race belt and trisuit even though neither was listed. The response was almost immediate and, after answering all of my questions, they’ve already ordered exactly what I needed. As a matter of fact, they ordered the same trisuit in two sizes because I said I sometimes fall in between a small and a medium.
So I too am certainly impressed and can verify that they will, in fact, order it if they don’t have it!
Agree with the other two posts. In my case, I know the people behind the scenes. Beyond the great service they now provide, they are great people, and great ambassadors of the sport! Because of this, you always get a personal & caring conversation when you talk to them. They are new, but I promise you they will grow quickly because of their knowledge, their hard work, and that they want to be “helpful.” I strongly recommend you take a look before going elsewhere!
I came across this site when searching for a description of the Ironman Lake Placid course. I also made a purchase (didn’t need to talk to anyone so I can’t attest to the customer service) - but the purchase process was very smooth and I received my order quickly.
I am another happy customer of Steady State Sports. I love the expert advice, friendly, and super speedy service! I recently ordered both the Zensah socks and leg sleeves. Yesterday, I ran 10+ miles (a long distance for me) wearing the Zensah leg socks during the run and the sleeves after for recovery. My, oh, my. It was hard for me to believe that I ran so far, because my legs felt great during the run and all day! No soreness or fatigue. I won’t hesitate to buy more from Steady State Sports.
