Can anyone give me any info about the race/course, etc. I am thinking of doing the Oly on Saturday and just wanted some feedback. I am guessing it’s pretty flat and wide open, but any thoughts would be appreciated.
Over all a good race. Swim has been calm and from what i can remember a clockwise triangle swim. Bike is along lots of rural roads. I did the iron distance race a few years ago and the bike course had a lot of out and backs in a H shape. The run is basically a U shape, 6mile course if I can remember. The run course roads were in poor shape when I raced but if you just stick near the side of the road or in the middle and you should be fine. Very low key and very friendly. I really enjoyed the race both the half and full iron distances.
nice small event, good pizza for all starters after the race! Course is very, very flat, roads are okay and an all in all well organized race.

Did, but did not finish the last year of the full.
Practice swim was awesome and very casual, but the course was fully marked.
Pre-race meal was nice.
Swim was quite pleasant and run to T1 was on a good surface.
Bike had a lot of rough roads and the wind came unpleasantly across the cornfields. Heed was the nutrition and some aid stations were understaffed, but for an oly that should not matter.
Run had brutal roads, but no traffic. Many of the items promised at the aid stations were not available(ice, flat coke, etc.), but again for an Oly that should not matter much.
All of the problems I had with the race organization will not affect your Oly.

I did the oly a couple years ago and agree with what others have said. But will also say there is no shade on the run, so if it is hot there is no relief. The year I did it they had chip sealed some of the bike course - so hope they haven’t done that lately. Overall the RD does a good job and its a fun race.
Good small race run professionally. The only issue I had was finding the place and cell phone issues. Would race again if it fits in my schedule.
Any reviews on the '11. This thread has some pretty patrice reviews from previous races. I am thinking of signing up for this one & am just hoping they haven’t/weren’t planning on making any drastic changes. Anyone have any info? The race website doesn’t provide much detail.
