4th place - way to go G
.
Awesome. Just awesome. Looks like your “big ask” to place top 5 got answered.
Pete went past me fast at the start. I took one look at him and saw that he had a runner’s build.
Respect to all my competitors there were a lot of great stories out there:
Greg Fraine – 8:57 at 41 years old
Pete – going 5th at his first elite IM
Chris McDonald – 1st AGer with 8:59 and spending some ‘quality time’ with the medical personel post-race
Mister A – off the front the whole ride and hanging tough for his first finish – remember that the guy is only 24, give him a few more years of overall training and he should mature into an awesome athlete
and, of course, my training wing-man – The Baron, swims a 59, drills the first half of the bike and then takes a minute out of a run course record that stood since 1993. Quite impressive.
