The gRAAM guys are in Georgia right now, and they did a sprint tri near Atlanta Saturday. If you’ve ever wondered if the IM guys would be fast at the shorter distances, you might have your answer. The race was a 600 swim, 10.7 bike, 5K run. Clas took first (course record by 1:34) and Gordo took third. Here are their splits. Take a look at those times! Don’t know about y’all, but they look pretty quick to me.

i was at this race and got a chance to talk to the guys for a bit after the race (they were staying with training partner of mine, but he didn’t tell me until that morning after i saw clas carrying his gear–i about pissed my pants). i can’t stress enough how awesome these guys are–very humble and very unassuming. they had ridden about 120miles the day before and this was a “low volume” day for them. they humored me for far longer than they should have after the race and did not boasting whatsoever of their own accomplishments–they even asked me about my race!. all 3 had kick-ass races. clas’s run split was quite insane–that was not an easy trail run. i plan on relaying some more stories about these guys later–i’m still giddy 2 days later. just really cool guys. good luck to clas at IM brazil!! and by the way, the guy in 2nd (ben travis) is also traveling with the gRAAM group, so they swept the podium.
