I’m a little behind the times, apparently, but if you dig around google, not only do you have the online US maps function, but you can download a worldwide satellite photo system, where you can zoom down to much of the world. Pretty cool and scary stuff.
You can see Corcovado in Rio, the Sydney Opera House, parts of Angkor Wat, and other landmarks from space. Going to look for the pyramids next.

then hit the buildings tab on the bottom of the google earth screen.
then use the tilt function which is to the right of the directional arrows.
Now that, by any measure, is pretty clever.

I found it very interesting that I could zoom in on the US Central Command headquarters building in Tampa, FL . You’d think this information would be blacked-out or low-res.
I wish they’d re-shoot my house; I’ve painted and done some landscaping.
