Triathlete’s Training Bible by Joe Friel
very similar to Going Long, but less Ironman-specific.
And if you have a serious thirst, go all the way…Lore of Running, by Tim Noakes
VERY extensive, scientific examination of EVERYTHING about running and training in general (1000 pages).

Depends on your level. I own Triathletes Training Bible, Going Long, and BeIronFit, and I like BeIronFit more than the other two. Eliminates most of the details that many of us don’t sweat and gets to the most basic, useful information right from the get go. Your experience and level determine how many details you need to be concerned with.
Triathlete’s Training Bible has a lot of good info in it. Covers training nutrition etc for all different distances of tris. Can get into too much detail, I skipped a number of pages. But still a worthwhile read.
