They’re covering the Mare Nostrum series out of Europe. And it’s no so much for the racing, because most of the swimmers aren’t rested for the meet. But they’ve got John Nabor and Lenny Krayzelberg as commentators just jawing through anything longer than a 100, and John and Lenny have some very interesting things to say about the technique of the swimmers currently racing, the history of the sport, how approaches to training and technique have changed in recent years, how some notable coaches in the sport view the Olympic preparation process, that you just can’t find a more stereotypical California Girl than Kaitlin Sandeno and all kinds of other fun discussion and gossip.
It really reminds me how much they’ve got to dumb down the announcers when swimming does show up on normal television.
