You could always go out on the Silver Comet Trail (google it for more information). I’m planning a trip to Atlanta weekend after next, and I was planning to ride there then.

If you’ve got transportation and don’t mind driving about 30 minutes (from the Marietta area) head to the Bud Plant in Cartersville. 12-27-45-65-105 options, well marked, good mix of flats and hills. Best recommendation for the area/location you’re in.

Only one place to ride in the ATL…

Give it up for Six Gap! Everything else pales in comparison…

thanks fellas… i’m hoping to get some respecatable amount of time of training in. by any chance is lake alatoona warm enough to swim in?

Riding any of the gaps is spectacular of course, but they ain’t in Atlanta.

We did a pretty nice ride through the Buckhead area when I was there in April. I couldn’t tell you what the roads were…maybe someone else here could lend a hand…

thx - i found the perfect link… http://sadlebred.com/atlroadrides.html
however, they say “absolutely” no aero bars / tri bikes? what up? i ride safer than most roadies…

last year i did the six flags ride in atl a ton with my p3sl and never heard one compaint from the roadies. as long as you can prove you have bike handling skills and are not a danger to everyone it’s ok.

you could also go to columns drive - bone flat 2.5 stretch of asphalt that many triathletes frequent. boring but safe.
