Bagel with cream cheese.
Breakfast burrito maybe? Just nuke it quickly before you go.
Banana/apple/______(insert fruit of choice)
I just got this baby and I love it.

I set it to make steel cut oatmeal every morning. You can put in the oatmeal (3:1 oats to water) the night before and have it go off in the morning. If I’m swimming that morning I’ll have some bread with peanut butter and honey then put the oatmeal in a pyrex container and eat that after swimming.
That thing also makes great rice. Read the reviews on amazon, it really kicks butt.
I also make green smoothies like this:

That blender is expensive but it’s worth it. I use mine every day. You can pre-make a batch then put it in sports bottles and take it on the go. Kinda a lot of sugar without a lot of protein though so you may want to add some powder. I like to take it separately so it doesn’t overwhelm the taste.
I like to put in:
4 carrots
12 oz apple juice
TON of spinach
TON of kale
TON of chard
frozen strawberries
banana
I put in more greens than she does in that video with no steevia (sp?) and it still tastes great.

Hmm. That is tremendously convenient. I’m not familiar with rice cookers, so I don’t know if many of them have delayed timers like that.
How well does it cook your oats? I’m a fan of the steel cut variety, and cutting down the cooking time (i.e., the less time I’m actually standing in front of the counter top waiting) would be a bonus! It doesn’t actually cook them quicker, does it?
How about quinoa – have you tried that in there? That would be dandy too.
Steel cut oatmeal freezes very well and is quickly re-heated in the microwave.
I usually make a good sized batch the evening before a long ride. Leave a serving in the fridge overnight (for the next morning) and put the rest in the freezer divided up into whatever sized portions you like.
2-ish minutes in the microwave…add a banana or some blueberries and a splash of maple syrup and your good to go.
Easy Peesy!!!
If you can find Coaches Oats (they sell them at most Costcos I think), they are very similar to steel cut and can be microwaved in 4 minutes or cooked on the stove top in 7-10 minutes.
Before coaches oats I used to use a mini crockpot little dipper thing to cook steel cut oats overnight. It worked well enough.
go to bed earlier, wake up earlier. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day.
However,
2 cups skim milk and two scoops protein powder: 400 kcal
Natural peanut butter and fresh berries on whole grain bread: 450 kcal
Banana, apple: 150 kcal
Cup of coffee: 50kcal
bottle of water.
Total: 1050 kcal and all eatable/drinkable on the drive in. Helps to have a shaker bottle that you can get at any nutrition store, or else use a bike bottle.
Yogurt, bagel, piece of fruit.
at least 0.4lbs of chicken from every pound of bodyweight.
and two slices of dry white toast.
I usually go with 2 2% Fage Yogurts with honey. Each one takes ~60 seconds to eat.
Coffee + bagel
Coffee + PB&J
.

That’s a lot of chicken!** **
I love leftover pancakes. My wife makes blueberry pancakes from whole wheat with flax seed, oats, multi-grains. We make a huge batch on sat. mornings and I ziplock them for later. Sometimes I’ll spread cream cheese or even peanut butter on them…eat cold or pop in toaster.

Thanks for that. I am now officially ready to start my day. ; )
I hate to be a pain in the ass but…
Please, please post a recipe!
(I know pancakes, but ones that would hold up in a toaster?? that sounds fan-bloody-tastic!)

My hubby & make “egg cups”, which are basically little mini-omelets made in a muffin pan. We mix an egg per muffin cup in our pan - which is a dozen in our case, (usually about half white only and half full egg, but you can play with this ratio) a splash of milk (again optional) a dash of salt & pepper. Then I chop up whatever veggies we happen to have, our fave is spinach, red onion, red pepper & tomato, but just about anything will work. Spray the muffin pan with cooking spray. I put the veggies into the cups and then pour the egg mixture on top, my husband does the opposite, either works. Then we usually sprinkle with a little shredded cheese and bake in a 375 degree oven for approx. half an hour or until done. They will puff up really big, but settle down when they cool. I put them into a tupperware container and put them in my work fridge. Zapp two in the microwave with some turkey bacon, and you’ve got a nice hot breakfast.
Enjoy!

That sounds like a really good idea…but what part of a turkey does turkey bacon come from?
For ideas…I like to use oats soaked overnight with almond/peanut butter in them for a post workout snack. Most places have a microwave to heat them up. Also, just plain boiled eggs.

I though my breakfasts have been a little on the light side, so I guess it’s because I haven’t been getting in 65 lbs of chicken for breakfast each day!
1050 Calories, wow! Is this pre-workout or post. I can’t handle this many cals if it’s before the workout, just me though…
Dude that should have been in pink… By your calculation I would need to eat 78 POUNDS!!! of chicken for breakfast and who the fuck eats chicken for breakfast anyway??? Okay I admit I need to lose a few lbs. but ah not that many lbs.
