Good podiatrist in Chicago?

Does anybody know of a good podiatrist in the Chicago area? Could anyone provide a name and some contact info? I’m hoping to find someone who understands runners and running injuries. No more doctors who say, “It hurts to run? Well, don’t run!”

Thanks very much!

Dominic,

Chicago Triathlon club talked a little about this in the summer. Check out their site and search for podiatrists. Good luck!

Lisa Schoene.

She treats a lot of runners.

It is a bit of a long wait to get an appt (she’s good),
so be asked to be put on a waiting list for cancellations.

FAIK - she has two offices : Downtown (River North
area) and Far North Suburbs (near Gurnee).

good luck

I’ve never been to them, but I’ve heard these folks are pretty good.

I’ll use them next time I need a toe doc.

Thanks to all for the good suggestions!

I personally like Dr. Svhilik at the Brookfield Sports Chiropractry. I liked the inserts he made because they were pretty light and fit into my shoes well. I also had some done by Durkin before Svhilik made mine, but they were pretty hard, did not fit well, and were pretty darn expensive.

Also with Svhilik, he tends to help locate the cause of problems and helps by giving treatment/recovery programs, much more than the typical “ice and don’t use it” recommendation. He understands us freaks a little bit more.

If you are in the Rockford Area I know of a GREAT doc…
