anyone found a good spot to watch le tour in Placid? The Crown Plaza doesn’t have Versus and I’m going into serious withdrawal.

I’ve been there the last 3 years either racing or volunteering. There is a restaurant called, I’m pretty sure, the Swiss Chalet, just outside Lake Placid heading towards Saranac Lake. They always used to advertise that they had a big screen TV showing the TdF, with tables and chairs in front of it. They also have specials targeted toward the racers, and good prices. There was always a crowd there every evening either eating or drinking and watching. If it’s still there, check it out.

Placid Planet has a big screen in the parking lot of their shop, with some chairs. It’s under a Cervelo tent (I believe Cervelo put the whole thing together). I’m sure they’d have no problem with you pulling up a chair to watch, or bringing your own.
