Beer!
i got the beer part down pretty good
.
green tea?
various vegetable juices?
Iced tea, specifically green tea. With no sweetener.
To flavor your water try adding Bragg’s Raw Apple Cider Vinegar. Raises the bodies Ph. Or you might want to try Kombucha - a fermented tea. Raw organic will supply good bacteria + antioxidants.
If you’re sick of “just water”, you might want to try those “Mio” flavorings. I don’t think those have junk calories as far as I know. I do know that my wife is a big fan…
bourbon or rum
.
Champagne, during the day.
Maker’s & Coke is a good choice.
I also like a “blind russian” after dinner. Equal parts vodka, Kaluha, and Irish cream over ice. Add milk if you can’t sip it.
I havent found anything great, but I like to toss some of the Nuun tablets into a glass of water. I dont train with Nuun, but I use them for those days when I just cant stand more water. They have a Kona-Cola flavor that is slightly worse than the last few ounces of coke after the ice has metled, and a pretty good Strawberry-Lime flavor that tastes like diluted Kool-Aid. Dont try the banana. Nuun is also a great pre-race week hydration option because it has no calories but lots of electrolytes.
My favorite no-calorie drink is water with lemon and Splenda. I am not sure who/how/why I tried it, but I some how became the douche that makes his own lemonade at resturants. Honestly, its worth it. I love the stuff.
I leave a pitcher of water in the fridge with a sliced whole lemon in it. The lemon increases antioxidants by 9x (or so I’ve heard from my health nut mother in law, but not verified).

Actually you’ve got it backwards. your title should read “Good Drink besides Beer.”
Coconut water- get it cold enough and the taste is tolerable, and far more electrolytes than a typical manufactured sports drink. Since I started drinking it, I’ve seen about a 90% reduction in summer migraines.
