Going to start a food log....night-time itching

I want to head to the doc for my next checkup with some kind of info, but I’m tired of having trouble at night with feeling itchy. It’s just me and not the wife, so assume it is not un-welcomed guests.

I at first tried to tie it to beer or other alcohol consumption (avg. 2 a day or less) and functions of those systems clearing it, but through some basic trial and error ruled that out.

I’m now down to possibly beef or something that was in my arepa from last night or the meal two nights before. All 3 nights had beef.

To me, some of the reasons behind it seem kind of disturbing. Like any internet health search I suppose.

In terms of eliminating players, I know for sure it isn’t:
-nuts
-wheat
-dairy

Things I haven’t ruled out:
-alcohol
-beef, had for a few days recently back 2 back
-whatever may have been in the recent pineapple pie we’ve had, it seemed to be worse around this time.

Anyone else had night time itching? It’s usually not BAD, but an annoyance. Last night, I was implored to take a teaspoon of the kid’s liquid antihistamine.

What about non food items. Had with certain types of detergent so have to use the really neutral ones.

why do you think it’s food?

could be sensitivities to environmental stuff too…

Never considered that. I’ll look into non food also!

Along that same line…any correlation to days you swim? Its worse for me in the winter when my skin is dry, but I have to shower and scrub really good with mild soap after a swim or else I’m itchy. I usually notice it most when I get into bed at night.
