Going to New Mexico, specifically Santa Fe and Toas, and looking for some good rides. Anyone have any ideas? Also want to see if the my drive actually slices less in the altitude!
Thanks

Perfect weekend for riding in Santa Fe…http://www.santafecentury.com
Supposed to be a pretty good ride. First 30 miles = hilly, last 70 somewhat windy.
It’s beautiful here now. Enjoy your trip.
The Santa Fe century is sunday. 25/50/75/100 Road and one offroad ride also.
Lots of great places to ride - I would ride the course with the century, lots of rollers and a few good hills. The Santa Fe century is on Sunday & the Jay Benson Sprint tri is in Albuquerque also on Sunday. Here’s the site for the SFC http://www.santafecentury.com/. Also the GCC community center has a nice 50meter pool. Let me know if you are interested in the tri, there is no online registration.
Thanks for all the great info! I pumped about going and it should be a good time.

We went on a rafting trip near Taos a number of years back I would imagine this time of year could be awesome for that if its not tooo cold.
Don’t skip Eske’s BrewPub in Taos, great green chili beer.
The Santa Fe Century has one steep hill – “Heartbreak Hill”"-- that a lot of people have to walk up. It’s pretty short, and most riders that aren’t way undergeared don’t have too much trouble.
Any portion of the Enchanted Circle ride is great. The “back” road from Santa Fe to Taos through Chimayo and Truchas is beautiful. Near Santa Fe you can also do great rides near or in Bandelier NM and the Valle Grande caldera and even Pajarito ski area… If you’re looking for climbing, a lot of riders will ride up to Santa Fe Ski Basin or Taos Ski Valley. Near Taos, you should also ride out to what used to be called “the blinking light” and from there ride out to the bridge over the Rio Grande gorge.
In that area, pretty much any road is a good ride. Don’t forget the mountain biking.
My sister & family live in Taos and I visit all the time. Lots of great biking. Go from town - through the “blinking light” and up to the Ski Valley and back - great ride. Out past the Gorge is nice too. There is lots of mt. biking if you are into that up in the ski valley. There is a bike shop right as you enter town on the right before you get to the Plaza - they have maps, info on routes to ride. I’ve heard that the river is really full this year so the rafting is good - its well worth doing a 1/2 day trip.
