I am starting to look at my goals for next year - I want to test myself and give maxium motivation for training through those cold winter months, but I want to be realistic. Are these goals achieveable if not how should I down grade them.
This year 10mile tt 22:56 - Next year sub 22min?
This year 25mile tt 1:01:36(first 25’er) - next year sub 1hr (think on the right course & conditions I could do this now)
Next year 50mile tt sub 2:06.
Next year fresh 10k run = sub 38min (no 10ks except tri and
This year Olympic tri 2:14 (short bike course) next year 2:10 -
This year 1500 tri swim time = 28mins, next year 25mins,
This year Standard distance Duathlon 2:13 next year sub 2:10.
Possibly 1/2 IM - trying for sub 5hrs.
Are these reasonable? What are every one esels goals?
Here are some possible area’s I am looking at for improvement - Core strength (neglected through the summer), Flexability and running co-ordination (streching, drills etc), run frequiency currently 2-3 upto 4-5, run endurance - increase one run to over 1hr, Swim frequency to more than 1 or 2, loose a few kg’s of fat, improved diet, bike position - think it is quite good already? Longer base rides from 2-3hr to 3-4hrs. Bike equipment - training with power, disk wheel or 808’s, thumb shifters intstead of sti. Any other areas I should look at?
I think with proper training I can do it. Of course if I’m eating two I won’t get a milkshake first or top the burger with guacamole like I did when eating a single.
what sort of rest interval do you use between burgers? or is the transition from b1 to b2 very quick? what sort of chewing cadence do you find works best?
What sort of training plan do you employ for the twins? I would think work on endurance base would be key, no?
I practice looking for a good divorce lawyer and a new place to live.

Best to keep a steady but maintainable pace. I find you have to finish before your body realizes what you are doing to it.

More importantly, do they have tape when you cross the finish and bodyguards to hold the other competitors and their f***ing families out of the finishers photo? Dito question for the sex with the twins event (that’s a “1/2 LatexMan”, no?)
Well Mr. Boing I believe your goals are much more realistic than the rest of the folks who invaded your thread. In my humble (and not so valuable opinion), I think these are obtainable numbers and not knowing you, I’d still bet that you can probably do much better in a couple of those events. I’m assuming that you’re fairly new to these events; for example, if you’ve done 20 Olys and have maxed out at 2:13, then 2:10 is a good goal. However, if you’ve done 1 or 2 Olys and did a 2:13, then I think you can probably shave much more than 3minutes just from experience. Same goes for your 25k tt, if you did a 1:01 on your first attempt, you’ll probably be able to go under 1 hour without too much additional effort, just from your experience in pacing, etc.
Good luck, if you can work the twins or cheeseburgers in somewhere it will be even more impressive when you reach all of your goals.
