What’s the deal with Canada? No live Giro coverage on TV, cable or on the internet. For some reason the Universal online coverage is blocked.
I don’t get it. It’s the biggest international sports event going on right now, but not apparently in Canada. Strange, because Toronto has the largest single population of Italians outside of Italy!!
So just because there are Italians in Toronto there should be Giro coverage?
That would be like saying just because there are Mexicans in LA they should televise the Tour of Mexico.
Was watching both Universal and justin.tv. Turns out the justin.tv coverage is a min. or two closer to “live”
The highlight’s from yesterday’s stage made it to YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/user/sportsnetwork ) pretty quickly so you should be able to catch today’s stage highlights there in a bit.

Well they cover all the soccer matches in Italy on various Italian cable channels and when Italy is playing the the World Cup, large sections of Toronto are shut down. I was just thinking that cycling which is big in Italy would have more coverage here.
Giro coverage is available NOW in Canada on www.universalsports.com. I’m sitting in Toronto on Rogers cable Internet watching stage 3. I was blocked from stage 1, but now it is working.
What’s the name of the guy doing the little editorial about the TdF among other things, in Montreal’s main newspaper in French? I remember reading that when I lived in MTL and always thought it was fun to read.
It’d be worth getting the www.universalsports.com one going as it is broadcast is much higher quality. The commentators seem better for the justin.tv link though. The feeds are separated by about a minute with justin.tv being ahead.
